About Shyla
Hi, I’m Shyla, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor supporting children, adolescents, and adults. I provide therapy that is compassionate, client-centered, and tailored to each person’s unique journey.
I help clients navigate anxiety, mood concerns, trauma, substance use, and life transitions in a safe, nonjudgmental space. My approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based practices, including TF-CBT, DBT, CBT, MRT, and Motivational Interviewing. Together, we focus on building insight, coping skills, and meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels right for you.
Growing up in Southern Illinois, I developed a deep appreciation for my community and a passion for reducing the stigma around mental health and substance use. I bring warmth, care, and connection to every session, helping clients feel heard, understood, and supported as they work toward the life they want.
I offer both in-person therapy at 520 Fullerton Rd, Swansea, Illinois, and telehealth services across the state. Sometimes my dogs make an appearance during in-person sessions, helping create a welcoming and homey environment for clients. To schedule a session, you can visit my Headway profile or call my office at 618-277-6770.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend and our dogs, exploring new places, trying new foods, and playing games. Family, connection, and joy are important to me, and I bring that same warmth, care, and energy into my work with clients.
I know reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m here to provide a supportive, safe space where you can be yourself, explore your experiences, and build the skills to move forward with confidence.
